Include your iPhone model, iOS version and what happened. Please leave out personal photos and baby details unless they are needed.
Getting started
Allow camera access, then choose an age with the slider. Press and hold the picture to compare it with the unfiltered camera view. Use the book button to read the science guide. You can set your baby’s age or explore without a profile.
The camera is blank
Open iPhone Settings → Apps → First Light and allow Camera access. Return to the app. If the camera still does not appear, close and reopen First Light, then try switching between the front and rear cameras.
Actual size and Full view
Actual size aims to match the scene’s size when you hold the phone at arm’s length. Full view shows more of the scene at a smaller scale. Phone position, camera limitations and viewing distance affect the result.
Saved moments and sharing
Tap the shutter to keep a moment, then open its thumbnail to revisit it at different ages. The gallery holds up to 60 moments. Export anything you want to keep elsewhere before older moments are removed. Sharing happens only when you choose a destination.
Purchases and refunds
First Light is a one-time paid download with no subscription or in-app purchases. Apple handles payment and refund requests. If it is not right for you, you can ask Apple for a refund. Apple decides eligibility; approval is not guaranteed.
What the picture means
First Light estimates visual information available during typical infant development. It cannot show a baby’s subjective experience or assess an individual child’s vision. It is an educational tool, not a vision test or medical device.
